Was called Merlin by his parents.15 The following poem was written by his mother sometime after he died:15 Merlin A little dream and yet so real These little rose buds are Sent down from above, with the Father's love Entrusted to our care. Once more Death's angel has visited our house. And taken our baby away, The one who has said, “Let the little ones come,” Has taken our baby today. Yet the blessed thought comes to us now While our hearts are filled with pain That we in patient submission bow To our Father's will again. To us for a purpose, he was sent His mission is fulfilled, For a few short months he was only lent It was as our Father willed. Oh, baby dear while we grieve here Thou are happy and safe above May thy little life to us so dear It's influence never lose Merlin our sunshine and our joy Thou who brightened all our day Thou art happier far with out alloy, In the glory world away. | ||||||||||
