Misc. Notes
Electrician by trade. Went by Evan.
Evan was the manager of the Boundary Pumping station in Yuma during World War II. Evan and Dora lived in the big government house next to the pumping plant. They station was deemed critical during the war and had to be guarded 24 hours a day. About 12 soldiers were stationed there and lived on the porch of the house. The porch, which went all around the house, was sectioned off (by Evan) into little rooms for the soldiers. Dora had to feed all of them. The government supplied all the food for the soldiers, Dora did the cooking. Even with rationing going on, excess food had to be buried. It couldn't be given away or sold. 32
